Steve, I really like your skin tones especially and you also captured the figural proportions nicely -- tricky to do with this particular pose with that foreshortened leg facing us. Nice job!
Hi, Finally got a chance to look at this. You have improved so much with your figures. He has a real weight about him in his body and in his mind. I love it. I love his arms and hands. They are very expressive in the way you painted them and they look like they have seen some work. His right thigh is great too, the way it comes out, and the way his left arm is back with just the color making the mass of the shirt on that side. Love the way that the clothes have been painted and the shadows. Nice, quick strokes, without outlining anything. Love the chair and the shadows against the wall. Hey, didn't you have a pair of tennis shoes like that once? The bill of his hat looks like it is on top of the painting. Can't tell you why though, maybe the intense color? I don't like the ghost wash around the corner that starts on the wall and then goes into the floor. Looks like it was just left and it messes up the hallway. Since it is a problem I look at it and wonder what's going on, and I shouldn't be doing that. Good job though, it reminds me of George Segal everyday man sculptures. I just love hjs works, and this one, that you did makes me think the same thing. "What are they thinking about? Take care,love Liz
